Christie Updates Film Projector

Digital projectors aren’t the only ones being upgraded these days. Christie’s P35GPS 35mm film projector features key technological improvements for a smoother, more efficient operation.

Among the improvements is a completely redesigned changeover douser — also available as a retrofit for P35 models currently installed in theaters — as well as new bearing assemblies that ensure durability and longer life. Christie also has developed major changes to the sound head guide rollers and arms to minimize vibration and increase reliability and quality of the audio signal. The company is offering new, optional, one-piece hard Teflon-impregnated Delrin shoes for gentler handling of the film and greater wear resistance. Christie also will be changing to a high-performance round tooth belt profile that will provide substantially smoother drive, thus giving the belts, pulleys and other components longer life, less vibration and quieter operation.
