| The Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) is a 2-D plot that shows the degradation in contrast ratio, or modulation, against increasing spatial frequencies, or higher resolution. This diagram shows an image that is much sharper at a higher modulation (higher contrast ratio) than a lower modulation, even though all three are the same resolution. | ||
