For Robert Richardson, ASC to achieve two-strip and three-strip Technicolor looks for The Aviator, Josh Pines of TDI wrote Look-Up Tables (LUTs) that were applied to the images. Above is the image before color grading and the next image is after the two-strip LUT was applied. TDI’s efforts aided Richardson in achieving the nostalgic looks, and Richardson took home the Academy Award for Best Cinematography. (Image 1 of 2) | ||
