Deakins shoulders a Moviecam SL camera to film one of Ivy’s scenes. “There is quite a lot of handheld work in the movie,” he says. “Night and I didn’t feel the need for a Steadicam. It’s not that kind of movie — the feel of the story is much more direct and abrasive.”
