The buildings of Gotham City were built within the Cardington blimp hangar as practical sets that allowed the crew full access to interiors and rooftops. To add realism to the look, Pfister asked gaffer Perry Evans and his crew to light the structures’ interiors with an array of smaller fixtures, some of which are detailed in the schematics at right. Overall ambience for the city set was provided by rows of larger sources positioned on two 130'-high catwalks, which ran the length of the hangar on both sides. One of these catwalks is visible at the top of the frame (Image 2 of 2).
