The Modernist-style MIB headquarters was inspired by the work of Finnish architect Eero Saarinen and designed by Welch to facilitate Peterman's lighting needs. The site of many digital effects shots, the stage had to be lit for 5248 stock so that 4-perf could be used instead of VistaVision. The cameraman needed a T2.8 1/2 or better so that the cavernous oblong space wouldn't go soft in the background. The curved lightwall was constructed of plastic tubing covered with 1000H tracing paper, backlit with 40 20Ks.
