| Prieto and director Julie Taymor made the most of digital-intermediate technology at EFilm in Hollywood to create some extreme looks to match Kahlo's moods. Taymor wanted to give Kahlo's trip to Paris the look of early movies with hand-tinted color. "This Paris nightclub scene was filmed at a hotel in Mexico that had an incredible stained-glass ceiling," Prieto recalls. "At EFilm, we took it to a maroonish hue, desaturated the skin tones and enhanced color in some parts of the frame." | ||
