There are two ways of viewing the 3-D images on this page stereoscopically without a viewing aid. The two images shown above maybe viewed using the Parallel method of 3-D freevision. The two images shown below may be viewed using the Cross-Eye approach.

Note: This effect only works when this page is first downloaded and then printed out in color.

PARALLEL FREEVISION (use only left and right images at top of page)

Focus across the room. Gradually raise the page into your line of vision while holding focus at distance. The left hand image should be directly in front of your left eye and the right hand image should be directly in front of your right eye. Don’t focus until you notice an additional image that has formed in your field of vision. This is the 3-D image. Now focus on it.

CROSS-EYE FREE VISION (use only left and right images at bottom of page)

Place printed page directly in front of you so that the left hand image is directly in front of your left eye and the right hand image is in front of your right eye. Hold your index finger up in front of your eyes halfway to the magazine, directly over the dividing line between the two images. Bring the page close to your face. Focus on your finger and notice that an additional image forms between the two. This is the 3-D image. Now focus on it.
