AMERICAN CINEMATOGRAPHER
1999 MAGGIE AWARD WINNER IN THREE CATEGORIES!!!

American Cinematographer won THREE MAGGIE AWARDS on April 14, 2000 in Los Angeles at the Western Publications Association Maggie Awards Banquet -- including BEST OVERALL PUBLICATION/TRADE for 1999. That's a first in that category for American Cinematographer and the ASC. More than 2,000 magazines compete for Maggies. American Cinematographer also won a MAGGIE in the category of best Communication, Advertising & Entertainment -- Trade.

Finally, the 13th Annual ASC Awards Program Book won a MAGGIE in the Annuals & Semi-Annuals/Trade category. You can visit www.wpa-online.org to see all the winners. In all, 80 awards were presented on April 14, 200 with over 725 publishing professionals in attendance. The Western Publications Association recognizes editorial and design excellence annually. Over the past six years, American Cinematographer has received six Maggie Awards and earned 18 nominations. In 1996 the magazine scored a rare double honor by winning both a MAGGIE (Best Communications, Advertising and Entertainment Issue -- Trade) and a FOLIO: Editorial Excellence Award (Best Entertainment Business Magazine). American Cinematographer was also a 1998 Folio sponsored OZZIE Award for Excellence in Magazine Design. In 1998 Magazine & Bookseller magazine bestowed its coveted Silver Award on American Cinematographer for its Newsstand Cover Competition (circulation under 50,000) for the August 1998 "Saving Private Ryan" issue.
