Recognizing the increase of multi-camera production, the Society will host a special ASC Master Class session on Nov. 18-22 featuring an in-depth look at this unique and challenging cinematography discipline.
The week of instruction will consist of practical experience on real-time sets at various production studios, conducted by each show’s respective cinematographer. They will demonstrate and explain in detail their multi-camera workflow, from inception to camera rehearsals, through the shoot days.
There will also be hands-on direct training sessions held at the new Sony Digital Media Production Center (DMPC). There will also be the opportunity to look at some of the future technology in LED lights and lighting control.
The week will also feature several social occasions to mingle and converse with the instructors and other ASC cinematographers at the historic ASC Clubhouse in Hollywood
The class will be conducted exclusively by ASC members who have proven themselves as multi-camera experts, many of whom are winners of multiple Emmy Awards. The instructors include Donald A. Morgan (The Ranch), Patti Lee (Fam), Gregg Heschong (Abby’s), Gary Baum (Will & Grace), John Simmons (Family Reunion), George Mooradian (Rel), Wayne Kennan (Knight Squad) and Chris La Fountaine (Alexa & Katie).
