| Hughes inspects blueprints for the mammoth seaplane that he dubbed the Hercules (which critics derided as the “Spruce Goose.”) Scenes depicting the plane’s construction were shot in Montreal at Alstom, a vast indoor industrial space previously used for the construction of railroad cars. Production designer Dante Ferretti and his crew converted sections of the space into several large Hughes Aviation hangars. | ||
