U.S. International Festival

Now in its 32nd year, the U.S. International Film and Video Festival is soliciting worldwide entries for its latest competition. The festival recognizes business, television, industrial, and international productions with a broad array of both subject and production technique categories. Productions produced or released in the 18-month period prior to March 1, 1999 are eligible and may be submitted on 3/4" U-matic tape or 1/2" VHS in the NTSC, PAL or SECAM formats. Interactive CD-ROMS are also acceptable.

The competition itself is guided by a multinational board of industry leaders. New appointments to this year's board include Pat Cannon, manager of public relations and production division of Lions International, Oak Brook, Illinois; Anders Envall, producer/creative director, Dockhouse Film and Television AB, Gothburg, Sweden; Joy Kopp, manager of the public relations and production division of the Jack Morton Company, Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Pim Korver, cameraman/director of Pim Korver Film and Video, Krimpen aan den Ijssel, the Netherlands.

Judging for the competition takes place in multiple cities throughout the U.S., with an executive committee in Chicago reviewing all first-place "Gold Camera" and second-place "Silver Screen" awards. The honors will be presented at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Hotel on June 3 and 4, 1999. Entry kits and additional information may be downloaded from the festival's website, or obtained by contacting the IFVS competition's suburban Chicago headquarters.
