Key animator Claire Billett brings the impeccably coiffed Victor to life for a committee meeting in the local church. A number of animators worked on each character, and to help ensure visual consistency, lead animators developed style guides for each character that detailed mouth movements, walk cycles and any other behavioral traits. “The quality of animation on this film is staggeringly good, really wonderful compared to anything we’ve done before,” says Barnes. “We managed about 100 seconds of finished animation per week, and that’s pretty good for a project like this.”
