The compact mirror-system attachment is designed to facilitate eye contact through the lens.
Developed by cinematographer Sebastian Cramer and released by Cine Brands Munich, SeeU by Screen Plane is a compact mirror-system attachment designed to facilitate eye contact through the lens.
The solution enables on-camera talent to look directly into the lens while still seeing and interacting with a person behind the camera, be it an interviewer, director or scene partner. The user can shoot with two different focal lengths from the same perspective with zero parallax offset. The mirror’s angle can be easily adjusted so the subject’s gaze naturally shifts across different positions. Placing a monitor or tablet behind the mirror can transform SeeU into a Teleprompter-style device, ideal for guided presentations.
SeeU supports lenses approximately 18-20mm (S35, 16:9) and longer. The system is collapsible, easy to transport and integrates seamlessly into standard 15mm rod systems. Adjustable flags minimize glare and reflections even when working with wide-angle lenses.
Cramer shared a 2007 Academy Technical Achievement Award with Andreas Dasser for inventing the P+S Technik Skater Dolly and related products.
