Sony Unveils Venice Extension System Mini
With a footprint the size of an average smartphone, the solution features a custom drop-in ND cartridge system and a variety of design improvements.
Sony Electronics has announced the Venice Extension System Mini, a new accessory for the Venice 2 camera.
The system comes equipped with the Venice 2 8K sensor at a substantially reduced size than the existing Venice Extension System 2, creating a footprint the size of an average smartphone. The compact, durable design makes the solution ideal for handheld shots and extreme action. Features include a custom drop-in ND cartridge system with nine glass Neutral Density filters (ranging from 0.3-2.4) and a clear ND specially developed to match the Venice 2 system; design improvements for easy mounting and rigging; and mounting points for easily attaching accessories.

Multiple units can be used side by side for stereoscopic imaging with a 64mm interaxial distance. The system can also be used to create virtual-reality content and visual-effects plates in arrays.
Sony will showcase the Venice Extension System Mini at the NAB Show in Las Vegas this month (Booth N439) and will release the solution later this year.
