Venus/Laowa Unveils 4 Solutions
The Nanomorph LF 1.5x Anamorphic Series, the Sword Full-Frame Cine Macro Series and the Nanomorph 60mm and Ultima 12-120mm S35 lenses are on the horizon.
Venus Optics has announced the Laowa Nanomorph LF 1.5x Anamorphic Series, the Laowa Sword Full-Frame Cine Macro Series, the Laowa Nanomorph 60mm lens for S35 and the Laowa Ultima 12-120mm T4 lens for S35.
The Nanomorph LF 1.5x series includes focal lengths of 32mm, 42mm, 55mm and 85mm with a constant T2.9 aperture and various mount options, including Arri PL and Canon EF. The lenses can cover the Arri Alexa LF sensor in Open Gate format and offer low distortion. Each weighs about 2 pounds and comes in blue, silver and amber flare versions. Some wider lenses can focus up to 1'7".
The Sword series comprises six focal lengths in Arri PL mount: 15mm T4.1 1x, 25mm T2.9 1x, 35mm T2.9 1x, 60mm T2.9 2x, 100mm T2.9 2x and 180mm T4.6 1.5x. Canon EF and mirrorless bayonets are available for purchase.
The Nanomorph 60mm adds to the 1.5x anamorphic series, producing 1.5x squeezed images at a close-focusing distance of 9.5" up to 0.5x magnification ratio. The lens will be available in Arri PL mount with additional Canon EF and mirrorless bayonets, and flare options include blue, amber and silver.
The Ultima 12-120mm marks Laowa’s entrance into the 8K high-definition broadcast market. The 8K S35 10x broadcast zoom lens features a constant T4 aperture and can be paired with an optional MovCam Servo Unit for convenient control of focus, zoom and aperture during fast-paced or studio ENG/EFP work. The lens is available in Arri PL mount, and a B4-mount version is under consideration.
