Vū Technologies recently added Orlando, Fla., to its national network of virtual-production studios.

The company operates similar facilities in Tampa Bay, Fla.; Nashville, Tenn., and Las Vegas, Nev. The 30,000-square-foot Orlando facility, located at 9460 Delegates Dr., hosts the largest (155' x 26') LED volume in the Vū network and features three soundstages.

“We are thrilled to expand the Vū network into Orlando, a global destination for film and entertainment,” says Tim Moore, CEO of Vū Technologies. “Our latest studio location is just miles away from Disney and Universal Studios, two of the region’s largest producers of film and video content. In addition to being a top market for commercial filming, Orlando has seen exponential growth in gaming and AR/VR development in recent years.”

Vū’s VP soundstages utilize proprietary, patent-pending technologies that facilitate shooting talent in photorealistic LED volumes. The company’s integration partners include Mo-Sys, Mark Roberts Motion Control, Epic Games and NVidia. Vū also builds and integrates LED volumes and VP technology for clients who own and operate their own VP studios. The company launched the beta of its new studio-automation software product last summer and is planning to make it publicly available this year.

“With the technical talent pipeline coming from Full Sail University, University of Central Florida, Valencia College, Orange Technical College, the Dave School and others, the Orlando market is the perfect location for a Vū studio,” says Vū Studio Director of Workforce Development Anji Corley.

“We believe within the next five to 10 years, the idea of shooting on location or with a greenscreen will be a thing of the past,” says Jon Davis, Vū president and co-founder. “The paradigm shift to shooting in VP studios will forever disrupt and improve the way content is made in the film and TV industry.”

Vū Studio clients include Mercedes, Apple, Neiman Marcus, Disney and WWE.
