Michael Bauman Wins ASC Award for One Battle After Another

The cinematographer took home his first ASC Award to close out the 40th ASC Awards ceremony. Read the full list of winners here.

The American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) presented Michael Bauman its 2026 Theatrical Feature Film award for One Battle After Another.


The 40th ASC Outstanding Achievement Awards, held here at the Beverly Hilton, also recognized Mátyás Erdély, ASC, HSC for Orphan in the Spotlight Award category, and Mstyslav Chernov and Alex Babenko for the documentary 2000 Meters from Andriivka.


Winners in the television categories included Adam Newport-Berra for The Studio, Pete Konczal, ASC for Black Rabbit, Alex Disenhof, ASC for Task and Christophe Nuyens, SBC for Andor. In the music video category, Rodrigo Prieto, ASC, AMC won for Taylor Swift’s The Fate of Ophelia.


This is Bauman’s first ASC Award and nomination for a Theatrical Feature Fim. He was also nominated this year for Monster: The Ed Gein Story in the Limited/ Anthology Series/ Motion Picture Made for TV category.
