From left: Moderator Edu Grau, ASC, AEC joins cinematographers Adam Newport-Berra, Zachary Galler, Jessica Lee Gagné and Baz Irvine, BSC, ISC at the ASC Clubhouse for the Apple TV Plus Cinematographers Roundtable.

Severance (Season 2) — Jessica Lee Gagné

For Severance, Gagné continued to develop the series’ hauntingly sterile visual language. The show explores a world in which corporation Lumon Industries surgically separates its employees’ work and personal memories — a concept reflected in its symmetrical compositions and stark lighting.

Cinematographer Jessica Lee Gagné and director Ben Stiller prepare to shoot a mannequin for a scene depicting the completion of a mysterious assignment, which is featured in Severance Season 2, Episode 10.

Your Friends & Neighbors — Zachary Galler

Galler approached this suburban thriller by combining the visually dissonant tones of glossiness and darkness. The story follows a disgraced hedge fund manager who turns to burglary, infusing a seemingly mundane backdrop with a sense of menace.

Jon Hamm as Andrew Cooper in Your Friends & Neighbors Episode 2, "Deuce," shot by Zachary Galler.

Silo (Season 2) — Baz Irvine, BSC, ISC

Irvine’s work on Silo continues to shape the show's claustrophobic sci-fi world, in which humanity has retreated underground. His cinematography accentuates the show's distinct color palette and helps convey the illusion of scale within confined spaces.

Tim Robbins as Bernard Holland and Clare Perkins as Carla McLain in Silo Season 2 Episode 7, "The Dive," shot by Baz Irvine, BSC, ISC.

The Studio — Adam Newport-Berra

Newport-Berra's embrace of the long take helps convey the kinetic energy of The Studio, which follows the exploits and misadventures of a newly appointed Hollywood executive. His active camera moves capture the daily chaos of life in the industry, while the show's warm lighting and rich palette anchor its intimate character moments.
