Clubhouse Conversations — Nobody Wants This
In this episode, cinematographer Adrian Peng Correia is joined by interviewer Sandra Valde-Hansen, ASC, LPS, to discuss his work on Nobody Wants This — the romantic-comedy series from creator Erin Foster that follows an unlikely relationship between a rabbi and a podcaster.

In Nobody Wants This, agnostic sex and dating podcaster Joanne (Kristen Bell) is introduced by a friend to newly single rabbi Noah Roklov (Adam Brody), which soon leads to a love that is tested by both partners' starkly different lifestyles. Correia served as cinematographer on all 10 episodes of the series' first season.

In this interview, Correia discusses how he created a visual style of “messy elegance” to complement the show's tone and characters; which camera and lens choices helped give the show a textured look; building a LUT with rich midtones and strong contrast to avoid flat digital imagery; working with minimal prep time and shooting on location with limited lighting tools; using cross-shooting to capture improvised moments and maintain continuity; how he and the crew shaped the show's character and story through their use of wardrobe color, lighting tone and naturalistic framing, and more.
Adrian Peng Correia is a cinematographer whose recent credits include the The Flight Attendant, Kevin can F**k Himself, and The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.
Sandra Valde-Hansen, ASC, LPS is a cinematographer whose credits include the features Kaboom, White Bird in Blizzard and Plan B, and the series Now Apocalypse and The L Word: Generation Q.
