At IBC 2017, Cartoni will introduce several new fluid heads, tripods, and the Total Dutch, a new head design for Dutch angles.

First seen at NAB in April, Cartoni is bringing significant expansions to their lines of Master, Maxima and Lambda fluid heads to Amsterdam this September during IBC. Cartoni will also have the new Total Dutch, a Dutch angle head offering a complex range of motions thanks to full 360º rotations, even when shooting from canted angles. With precise nodal settings and support of up to 25 kg (55 lbs.), the Total Dutch can be mounted to any heavy-duty pan-and-tilt head.

In addition to previous models, there will be four new fluid heads on display. The top-of-the-line Master 65 is heavy-duty for heavy cameras. Cartoni’s patented Magnum counterbalance and silicon fluid drag systems are designed to achieve perfect balance and heavier drag, as well as smoother starts and stops, without any backlash. With payload support of between 20 kg (44 lbs) and 70 kg (150 lbs), it’s the flagship model in Cartoni’s Master series of high-end fluid-heads.
Supporting up to 30 kg (66 lbs), the smaller Master 30 offers +/- 90 ° tilt without any dead spots and a “wing” counterbalance system. The flat base can be converted to 150mm bowl via an optional adapter. For a more specialized head solution ideal for working from dollies, sliders or underslung on a jib arm, the Lambda 25 3rd Axis fluid head is a unique fluid head with 360º of rotation and nodal settings on three separate axes.

Lastly, the Maxima 30 with counterbalance and fluid drag is offered for payloads between 3 kg (6.6 lbs) and 30 kg (66 lbs). Pan and tilt brakes are located on the left for camera operators, as is 4-rosette attachments for panning bars. The camera plate stage will accept industry-standard plates from Arri, Red, and others. There is also a one-handed Smart Lock safety and release in the Maxima 30 that will work interactively with the two-stage, single-lever trigger for a “no-bind” mechanism that makes it easy and fast to spread and collapse.
Cartoni, who will be demoing their Smart Deployment Series of tripods, or SDS, claims that this technology makes their 100mm and 75mm tripods the fastest to deploy in the industry.
Based in Rome, the Italian company exports products to 65 countries on five continents. They can be found at Stand 12.E30 during IBC.
