Company plays some CFast moves with new 2.0 memory card that will offer transfers at up to 510MB/s.

Sony’s latest G Series of CFast memory cards will be available in early 2018 at $349 for 128GB, $199 for 64GB, and $119 for 32GB. Designed for professionals, the new cards can write files at up to 510MB/s while reading at up to 530MB/s.

To support the VPG130 (Video Performance Guarantee 130) protocol, sustained minimum write speeds of 130 MB/s must be maintained. The Sony CFast Ultra-fast G Series cards must also pass drop, vibration, shock and rigidity tests for reliability in the field.

Each card comes with hard case and Sony’s File Rescue software, which the company’s website says will provide a “higher rate of recovery for RAW image or MOV files captured on Canon devices.” The company also offers SD, XQD and SxS cards as well as SSD solutions.
