Wicked: For Good — Alice Brooks, ASC Shares 131 Pages of Production Journal "Finding Oz"
This expansive collection of photographs and lighting plots offers a definitive look at the cinematographer's experience making the musical fantasy saga.
During production on both films in Wicked's two-part cinematic saga, cinematographer Alice Brooks, ASC realized that she was embarking on something truly extraordinary. "I don’t want to forget any of this moment in my life," she tells AC. And so, she decided to thoroughly document her experience on the second feature, Wicked: For Good, noting, “I realized that I wanted a document that I could share with my grandchildren." She was also at least somewhat inspired by Greig Fraser, ASC, ACS, whose own production document on the making of Dune: Part Two, entitled "Afterfilming," was presented exclusively by AC last year.

With these motivating factors in mind, Brooks created a diary detailing the production, packed with photographs and lighting plots, that she has entitled "Finding Oz" — and she's elected to share a considerable portion of this document with AC and our readers. What follows are 131 pages of amazing behind-the-scenes photos that will bring you along on her journey making Wicked: For Good.
In the days ahead, AC will also share a wealth of images that provide 360-degree views of Brooks’ lighting setups, as well as an interview with the cinematographer that offers an even deeper dive into the contents of "Finding Oz." We are deeply honored to share this intimate look at the cinematographer’s process.
Below, readers can flip through each page of the entire portion of the document, and zoom in on the details of any photograph or diagram.
