Cannes Seminar with Peter Suschitzky, ASC - part 1

I had the pleasure of designing & moderating a Meeting with Peter Suschitzky, ASC, sponsored by Angénieux, as part of their ExcelLens tribute to Peter during the Cannes Film Festival.

Below is a video I made that evokes some of the lessons and themes evoked by the beginning of the seminar with Peter. I have spent some time trying to design a video format that both reports and annotates this discussion about cinematography.

Peter and I prepared for the two-hour seminar at length by selecting and discussing a dozen scenes from his films. Each scene was the occasion for lessons about cinematography and filmmaking. The collection of scenes also served as a summary of Peter’s brilliant and varied career. After Cannes, I had two additional talks with Peter to follow-up on some of the topics raised.
