AC Wins Folio Award for Rush

Mark Hope-Jones' October 2013 American Cinematographer cover story about the feature film  Rush, shot by Anthony Dod Mantle, ASC, BSC, DFF and directed by Ron Howard, has won a 2014 Folio Eddie Award for Editorial Excellence in the Best Single Article category. The news was announced yesterday at the Folio Awards ceremony, held at the Yale Club.

Hope-Jones' interview with Dod Mantle was augmented by two sidebars, one a breakdown of the production's post workflow (by Erhard Giesen, Valentin Steiner and Gregor Baumert), and the other a Q&A with director Howard (by Fred Schruers).

Two other AC articles received honorable mentions for Best Single Article: Benjamin Bergery's November 2013 coverage of Gravity and Jon D. Witmer's October 2013 coverage of NCIS.

AC also received an honorable mention in the Best Full Issue category for its June 2014 issue.
