ASC Announces 2024-’25 Awards Timeline

Annual Outstanding Achievement Awards gala set for Feb. 23 in Beverly Hills.

The American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) will present the 39th ASC Outstanding Achievement Awards on Feb. 23, 2025, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif. The annual ASC Awards, which will also be live streamed worldwide, honor the extraordinary work of directors of photography who have excelled in the art and craft of visual storytelling.


The Society will present awards in feature films, episodic, documentaries and music video categories. Below are dates for eligibility and submissions.


• Theatrical Feature Films must have a release date between Jan. 1 – Dec. 31, 2024. The deadline for theatrical feature film entries is Dec. 3, 2024.


• For all TV categories, a show must air or stream between Dec. 1, 2023 – Nov. 30, 2024. The deadline for television submissions is Nov. 15, 2024.


• Eligible Documentaries must be released or air between Dec. 1, 2023 and Nov. 30, 2024. The deadline for documentaries to be submitted is Oct 31, 2024.


• To be eligible for the Music Video Award, the video must have a release date between Oct. 1, 2023 and Oct. 31, 2024. The deadline for music video entries is Oct. 31, 2024.


• The ASC will also bestow a Spotlight Award. ASC members nominate and vote on winners in this category.

• Music Video and Documentary Entries Due Oct. 31, 2024
• TV Entries Due Nov. 15, 2024
• Theatrical Feature Film Entries Due Dec. 3, 2024
• TV and Music Video Nominations Voting Opens Dec. 6, 2024
• Theatrical Feature Voting Opens Dec. 16, 2024
• Theatrical Feature, TV and Music Video Nom Voting Closes (Noon PT) Jan. 6, 2025
• Nominations Announced (all categories) Jan. 9, 2025
• Final Voting Begins Jan. 13, 2025
• Final Voting Ends Feb. 19, 2025
• 39th ASC Awards / Winners announced (all categories) Feb. 23, 2025


Honorary awards, including the ASC Lifetime Achievement Award, Career Achievement in Televi-sion and Board of Governors Award, among others will also be presented at the awards ceremony.


ASC was founded in 1919. There are 458 members today who have national roots in some 20 countries. There are also 300 associate members from ancillary segments of the industry.
