ASC Hosts Fujinon Day for Hands-On Lens Demos
Society members turn out to examine latest optics on display at the Clubhouse in Hollywood.
The American Society of Cinematographers recently hosted Fujinon Day at the ASC Clubhouse in Hollywood.
During the event, Fujinon’s Cine Optics team used a workshop and educational approach to help attendees gain a better understanding of the creative, optical and budgetary considerations that are critical to modern optics design.
Bill Bennett, ASC moderated a discussion regarding the subtle and distinctive lens characteristics and qualities that can make all the difference to a production.
As part of the demonstration, a constant rotation of Fujinon Premier Series and Cabrio Series lenses were employed on an Alexa SXT camera shooting an actress in a scene lit in the Clubhouse Bar and shown on a Dolby HDR monitor.
Duclos Lenses transformed the ASC Board Room into a live lens projection space using Chrosziel’s new LED projector. A constant rotation of Premier Series and Cabrio Series optics were examined, offering an opportunity for both the novice to the experienced to learn more about lens projection.
New 2/3" format 4K UHD Box and portable ENG style lenses were showcased on Sony 4K HDC-4300 cameras outside of the Clubhouse. UA22x8BERD (8-176mm) & UA80x9BESM (9-720mm) were also shown.
Multiple Camera Set-Ups inside the Clubhouse showcased the entire lineup of Fujinon Series PL-mount zoom lenses, designed for a wide range of optical and budgetary performance applications.
