ASC Launches Multi-Part “Cinematic Lessons” Education Series
John Conroy, ASC, ISC is the instructor in the initial episode now available.
In this new course presented by the American Society of Cinematographers, director of photography John Conroy, ASC, ISC demonstrates two methods for simplifying what would otherwise be complex lighting setups by using a crane.
Not only do Conroy’s methods allow for less lighting setups but it also gives actors and the camera operator more flexibility. Conroy recreates his crane setups used for lighting larger productions while also showing how he would achieve a comparable look on a lower budget.
This 80-minute lesson is now available for purchase at the ASC Store.
Conroy has been a member of the ASC since 2021.
