Bailey to Introduce Kwaidan in L.A. June 11
John Bailey, ASC will introduce a 35mm presentation of Masaki Kobayashi's supernatural anthology film Kwaidan (1964) at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Linwood Dunn Theater, 1313 Vine St., on June 11 at 7:30 p.m.
The presentation is part of the Academy series This Is Widescreen. Shot in TohoScope by Yoshio Miyajima, Kwaidan was adapted from four Japanese ghost stories. It is so far the only horror film to receive an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign-Language Feature.
Tickets are $5 general admission, $3 for students, and are on sale now.
