Capone Welcomed as New ASC Member

Patrick Capone, ASC’s wealth of experience in part came from working with Society members including Néstor Almendros, László Kovács and Michael Chapman.

Patrick Capone has been a cinematographer on the hit HBO series Succession since its first season in 2018. He attended the NYU graduate film program, and early in his career, assisted and operated for (and learned from) such luminaries as ASC members Néstor Almendros, László Kovács, Michael Chapman, Tak Fujimoto and Emanuel Lubezki.


Capone has collaborated with directors including Adam McKay, Bong Joon-Ho, Joe Wright, Oliver Stone, John Wells, Nancy Meyers, Ben Stiller, M. Night Shyamalan, John Patrick Shanley and Sam Mendes as their chosen second-unit director of photography. He was also the second-unit director for Tate Taylor on his feature The Girl on the Train.


His other credits as a director of photography include the series Little Voice, Alpha House and State of Affairs. Shooting second unit, his credits include Maniac, The Greatest Showman, Okja and American Hustle.
