Chomyn Hosting ASC Instagram

Chris Chomyn, ASC is currently hosting the ASC Instagram. He takes over from Peter Wunstorf, ASC, who shared photos with followers for the month of September.
Born in New York, Chomyn earned a B.A. in history from Fairfield University and an M.F.A. in production from the University of California-Los Angeles. His first industry job was driving screen legend Doris Day to and from the set. Before long, he became a set lighting technician. His first cinematography jobs were corporate industrial films, educational films and music videos.
Chomyn’s feature credits include Lockdown, Sea of Dreams, American Primitive, Hidden Moon, and Doug Pray’s documentary Levitated Mass, about the famous journey of Michael Heizer’s 340-ton boulder through Southern California.
He recently returned from China, where he shot the science-fiction feature The Three-Body Problem, an adaptation of Liu Cixin’s best-selling novel, for director Zhang Panpan.
When Chomyn is between projects, he teaches cinematography at the University of Southern California.
