You’re invited to the historic ASC Clubhouse in Hollywood for an exclusive Coffee & Conversation event with featured guest David Klein, ASC. The cinematographer will discuss his work in the hit Showtime series Homeland.
The spy thriller series stars Claire Danes as Carrie Mathison, a CIA officer with bipolar disorder, and Damian Lewis as Nicholas Brody, a U.S. Marine Corps Scout Sniper turned al-Qaeda sleeper operative. This story occupied the first three seasons after which Danes’ character has been stationed around the world, which took Klein and the production to South Africa for a season, and then to Germany for two seasons before returning to the states in 2016. Much of our conversation will focus on Season 6, which finds Mathison living in Brooklyn and working at a foundation whose efforts are to provide aid to Muslims living in the United States. The season features a presidential election, and takes place between election day and inauguration day.
Klein’s other credits include Clerks, Chasing Amy, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Red State and the series True Blood and Pushing Daisies. He is a two-time Emmy Award nominee for Homeland.
This Coffee & Conversation event takes place on Thursday, May 25, from 1:30pm to 4:00pm.
The discussion will be moderated by American Cinematographer contributor Jim Hemphill.
