Cinematographer Philippe Le Sourd, ASC, AFC will be the featured guest and speaker at the ASC Clubhouse on Monday, December 11, from 1:30-4:00pm, during a Coffee & Conversation discussion focusing on his work in the suspenseful period drama The Beguiled, directed by Sofia Coppola:
In the film, a wounded Union soldier (Colin Farrell) finds refuge at a girls school in Virginia during the American Civil War — which leads to jealousy and betrayal. Based on the 1966 novel by Thomas Cullinan, the picture also stars Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, Elle Fanning and Oona Laurence.
A complete production story on The Beguiled appears in the August 2017 issue of American Cinematographer magazine.
Le Sourd’s other feature credits include A Good Year, Seven Pounds and The Grandmaster. He is a new member of the ASC and most recently completed the La Traviata, a filmed version of Giuseppe Verdi's famed opera, also directed by Sofia Coppola.
