Atomos Ninja to Support ProRes Raw for OM-1
The Ninja V and Ninja V+ will support recording of Apple ProRes Raw over HDMI for OM Digital Solutions’ new OM-1 Micro Four Thirds camera.
Atomos has announced that the Ninja V and Ninja V+ will support recording of Apple ProRes Raw over HDMI for OM Digital Solutions’ new OM-1 Micro Four Thirds camera. The Ninja V/V+ will record 12-bit ProRes Raw video at the DCI 4K standard up to 60fps.
The HDR display of the Ninja V/V+ provides an accurate preview of the image from the OM-1. The device offers the ability to choose between HLG and PQ (HDR10) standards to suit individual requirements. The 5" touchscreen provides access to a wide range of software tools, including waveforms, false color, check focus, framing guides, LUTs and image magnification.
The compact form factors offered by the OM-1 and the Ninja V/V+ make them suited to a variety of rigs and types of production; the combined solution is equally at home in a handheld setup, positioned in a confined space or mounted on a gimbal. The option to harness ProRes Raw in an MFT camera makes the format more accessible to a greater range of filmmakers.
Atomos and OM System are committed to offering the maximum degree of flexibility when it comes to working with the codec in postproduction. Accordingly, ProRes Raw clips recorded from the OM-1 will support White Balance and ISO adjustment sliders in Apple Final Cut Pro.
Atomos support for the OM-1 will be made available with a firmware update in the first half of 2022.
