Creative Solutions, Red Unveil V-Raptor Accessories
The DSMC3 Red Touch 7.0" LCD Monitor and the V-Raptor Production Pack kick off a new series of accessories.
Creative Solutions and Red Digital Cinema have unveiled the DSMC3 Red Touch 7.0" LCD Monitor and the V-Raptor Production Pack, the first in a series of accessories for the V-Raptor camera system.
“At CS, our mission is to build systems that integrate seamlessly with cameras and workflows,” says Greg Smokler of Creative Solutions. “We want the gear and camera to ‘disappear’ so cinematographers can focus on what’s most important: getting the shot. Working with Jarred Land, Jeff Goodman, Matt Tremblay and the rest of the Red camera team has been incredibly rewarding because they view the challenge the same way.”
The DSMC3 Red Touch 7.0" LCD Monitor allows camera operators to view the camera image on a daylight-viewable DCI P3 display that is powered by a single cable that locks into place via the custom Red Interface Module. The monitor features a completely redesigned camera-control-software user interface powered by SmallHD’s PageOS 4 Operating System.
“The monitor becomes the control hub for the V-Raptor system, and it’s designed to be familiar and intuitive for operators familiar with Red or SmallHD,” says Smokler.
The V-Raptor Production Pack is an integrated, end-to-end camera-accessory system designed in harmony with the camera body.
“It was important to us to make sure this kit would give camera crews the greatest flexibility on set,” notes Dominick Aiello, senior director of accessories for CS.
The DSMC3 Red Touch 7.0" LCD Monitor lists for $2,750. The V-Raptor Production Pack lists for $35,500. Both items can be ordered on Red’s website and through the company’s global reseller channel.
