Creative Tech Taps Elation KL Panels for LED Volumes
The KL Panel LED soft light plays a key role in Creative Technology’s U.S.-based virtual-event studios, including the newest one in Las Vegas.
Creative Technology Group is employing 75 Elation Professional KL Panel LED soft lights in its U.S.-based LED studios and has added a number of the full-color-spectrum fixtures to its rental inventory.
In the United States, Creative Technology operates virtual-event LED studios in Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York and Nashville. Each is equipped with XR (mixed reality) and camera-tracking technology that works with powerful graphics engines to create dynamic scenes that place a presenter or product virtually into any environment.
The Las Vegas facility is Creative Technology’s newest virtual-event studio, and it features a large, curved LED wall, an LED floor and an LED ceiling to create a virtual-event suite for television, film, corporate and automotive work.
“A lot of what we’re hanging these days tends to be a KL Panel, and that’s because of its flexibility,” says Reed Erickson, vice president of digital production for Creative Technology. “When we put other fixtures in these spaces, we’re using them at a lower capacity, but we’ve found that the KL Panels are really easy to use in these environments.” He adds that the units are sometimes used without a console and just using the encoders on the back of the fixture.
The KL Panel houses a 295-watt RGBWLC LED array and is color-temperature-adjustable from 2,000-10,000K. CRI is 95, and the unit has a high TLCI value. The units can match the white balance for the camera through a green shift adjustment or virtual gel library with no flickering when used with high-speed cameras.
