Fujifilm Announces Instax Mini Evo Cinema Camera, Mini Link+ Printer
Both solutions will be released in February.
Fujifilm North America Corp., Imaging Division, has introduced the Instax Mini Evo Cinema camera and the Instax Mini Link+ smartphone printer.
The Instax Mini Evo Cinema offers multiple ways for users to create content through still photos, 15-second videos and Instax mini photo prints via the free Instax Mini Evo smartphone app. The Gen Dial function enables users to apply photo effects from 10 different eras — from the 1930s to the 2020s — to their image. Content created in each era can be fine-tuned with the Degree Control Dial; by rotating the dial to precisely adjust color, contrast and noise expression, 10 creative variations per era are possible. Users can continue to personalize the image by adding a frame to every shot or video clip utilizing the Frame Switch; there’s a frame for every era, each paying homage to the characteristics, media and playback devices that defined that time.
Users can easily switch between “Cine” and ”Still” modes. In Cine mode, users can shoot a series of clips — up to 15 seconds total — and the camera will automatically stitch them into one smooth video. Via the app, users can connect via Bluetooth and extend video creations to 30 seconds by adding or reordering clips. Within the app, My Gallery provides a secure place to store images and videos, segmented into categories including Favorites, Printed, Video, Photo and Projects. Through this function, users can also save printed images digitally to their smartphone’s camera roll.
Mini Evo Cinema features a built-in digital zoom controlled by the Zoom Lever. Additional features include remote-shooting capability (via the app), an integrated selfie mirror and self-timer, a 1.54" LCD monitor and an analog-style Print Lever. Viewfinder and grip attachments and a hand strap are included.
The Instax Mini Evo Cinema camera lists for $409.95 and will begin shipping in February.
The Instax Mini Link+ integrates more instant-photo technology into the free Instax Mini Link smartphone app. These include Simple Print mode, which enables users to print photos directly from their smartphone’s camera roll; Design Print Mode, which captures every detail in users’ images, from text to illustrations or other graphics, and Simulation Mode, which lets the user see what the photos will look like before they print, enabling experimentation with placement and style.
The Instax Mini Link+ smartphone printer lists for $169.95 and will be available in early February (along with the updated app).
