Norwegian company Kelvin has introduced the Play Hero pocket light, the Versa Fresnel system for optical attachments, and the Speed Box series of soft boxes.

Offering 5x the brightness of the Kelvin Play Pro, the Play Hero delivers 1,200+ lux at 3'. Kelvin’s Cantastoria RGBACL light engine ensures rich colors, deeper saturation and a CCT range of 1,700-20,000K. The Play Hero offers two operating modes that enable users to choose either maximum brightness or maximum operating time. A built-in battery provides up to two hours of continuous operation and the ability to run indefinitely via USB-C. The IP65-rated solution offers built-in wireless DMX (CRMX from LumenRadio) and control via the Kelvin Narrator app.

The Versa with Fresnel 10 is a patent-pending system for optical attachments that features a collapsible, light-weight design. Offering Bowens Mount compatibility, the solution enables users to easily swap between Fresnel and other lenses for different shadow renditions and add barn doors and other attachments.

The Speed Box 4x3 (35.4"x47.2"), Speed Box 3x2 (23.6"x35.4"), Speed Octa 3 (35.4") and Speed Octa 4 (43.4") can be assembled in seconds and feature durable aluminum parts and reflective materials. Each soft box includes two levels of diffusion cloth and a grid.

The Kelvin Play Hero, Versa 10 Fresnel and Speed Boxes are now available for preorder. The company is showcasing these and other solutions at the NAB Show this week (Booth N2819).
