Lesspain Software has announced the official release of Kyno for Mac OS, an easy-to-use media management, screening, logging, organization and transcoding toolset for anyone working with video content and still imagery.

Kyno works with a wide variety of industry-standard formats and integrates seamlessly with Adobe’s Premiere Pro and Apple’s Final Cut Pro. Aimed at filmmakers, production professionals and video enthusiasts, it combines a number of common workflows in a simple interface that eases traditionally frustrating tasks.

Kyno offers easy access to media, with fast searching, filtering and media asset management, giving instant access to videos directly from a hard drive or SD card. Footage can be played and quality-checked in a high-performance player with accurate speed controls, widescreen bars, high-quality playback and more. With ingest-free media browsing, media-aware filters, markers, subclips, tags, ratings and more, users can find content fast. Kyno also offers support for a wide variety of industry-standard target formats, with a strong focus on productivity-enhancing batch operations. Additionally, Kyno can easily fit into any video workflow, with the ability to export to Excel or send files with metadata to Final Cut Pro X, Final Cut Pro or Premiere Pro.

A Windows version of the software is in development and is planned for release later in 2016.
