Leitz Unveils Lens-Test Tool
Users can compare up to four different lenses on a single screen.
Leitz has unveiled an online lens-test tool that allows filmmakers to compare up to four different lenses on a single screen.
The tool is the result of the company’s recent test of seven different sets of Leitz prime lenses and the Leitz Zoom series. Directed by American Cinematographer Technical Editor Jay Holben and shot by Kaity Williams, the test was designed to capture a cinematic scene with multiple characters as well as camera movement that incorporates many of the lens features cinematographers consider when choosing lenses for a project, including close focus, distortion, usable circle of illumination, skin tones, bokeh and flare. Users can select from a variety of focal lengths and apertures.
