Miller Announces Solo-Q
The new tripod series features the patented Q-lock to enhance speed and efficiency.
Miller Camera Support Equipment has announced the Solo-Q tripod, which features the new Q-lock to enhance speed and efficiency.
Solo-Q is a carbon-fiber professional tripod compatible with industry-standard 75mm and 100mm ball leveling pan-and-tilt heads. Although it is designed to support cameras in studio, its portability and flexibility also make it suitable on location.
Solo-Q’s design eliminates the need for a spreader with a leg-angle control that incorporates a safety lock to ensure quick and easy setting. Each leg features height markings, and the leg locks can be tightened with a quarter turn.
The patented Q-lock provides a fast way to unlock and lock away the tripod. Once all the leg locks are loosened, the legs will drop down completely when the Q-lock button is pressed. Users can drop one leg, determine the desired height and tighten the rapid locks, then drop the other legs to the same length and tighten.
When the shoot is finished, the rapid locks can be loosened and the legs can be pushed together into transport position; the Q-lock will automatically latch on.
The Solo-Q series comprises two 75mm bowl tripods and two 100mm bowl tripods.
Solo-Q comes with a three-year warranty and is now shipping.
