P+S Technik Unveils Optica Magnus, Announces Hasselblad Rehousing
The Optica Magnus Full-Frame Finder is compatible with Super 35, FF, VV and LF formats.
P+S Technik has unveiled the Optica Magnus Full-Frame Finder, an optical-viewfinder system that is compatible with Super 35, FF, VV and LF formats.
The ergonomically designed, lightweight solution can be used for spherical and anamorphic cine lenses; currently supported squeeze factors are 1.5x and 1.9x.
The company also announced it is rehousing medium-format Hasselblad lenses. Characteristics of the lenses include high contrast, superior resolution and low distortion over the entire image area. With the P+S Technik rehousing, filmmakers can use a minimized close-focus distance — half the original distance. In most cases, the original f number of the lenses can be kept as a real T stop.
Focal lengths are currently available from 30mm to 500mm. The available Hasselblad rehousing versions are the C, CF, CFi/e and F/Fe.
