Sony Announces FE 50-150mm F2 G Master
The telephoto zoom lens measures 7 7/8" and weighs less than 3 pounds, making it suited to both handheld and gimbal use.
Sony Electronics, Inc., has introduced the FE 50-150mm F2 GM telephoto zoom lens.
The latest addition to the G Master series, the lens integrates two AX (extreme aspherical) elements, two Super ED (extra-low dispersion) glass elements and three ED elements, enabling it to effectively suppress aberrations and ensure sharp, high-contrast imagery across the entire zoom range. Additionally, the floating focusing system enables a minimum focusing distance of 16" at the wide end and a maximum magnification of 0.20.
The lens’ constant F2 aperture makes it an ideal choice for portrait, wedding and event photographers aiming to isolate subjects with a shallow depth of field. A newly developed 11-blade circular aperture further enhances the signature G Master bokeh. In addition, proprietary “Nano AR Coating II” reduces ghosting and flare even in backlit conditions.
Measuring 7 7/8" long and weighing just under 3 pounds, the lens is suited to both handheld and gimbal use; its internal zoom design maintains its length and weight balance during focal-length changes.
The Sony FE 50-150MM F2 GM will begin shipping in May and will list for $3,899.
