Venus Announces Laowa Wide-Angle Primes
Four focal lengths are available to preorder: 9mm, 10mm, 12mm and 14mm.
Venus Optics has announced four Laowa wide-angle prime lenses: the 9mm T5.8 VV Cine, 10mm T2.9 Zero-D VV Cine, 12mm T2.9 Lite Zero-D VV Cine and 14mm T2.6 Zero-D VV Cine. All four lenses are designed to cover VistaVision camera sensors.
Angles of view are as follows: 9mm, 134.8 degrees; 10mm, 130.3 degrees; 12mm, 122 degrees, and 14mm, 117.8 degrees. All four focal lengths render low-distortion images, with the 10mm, 12mm and 14mm models achieving near-to-zero distortion. The lenses’ light weight (1.15-1.41 pounds) makes them ideal for a wide range of shooting setups. 77mm screw-in filters can be used with the 10mm, 12mm and 14mm lenses.
The 9mm is available in Arri PL, Sony E, Nikon Z, Canon RF and L mounts; the 10mm is available in Arri LPL, Sony E, Nikon Z, Canon RF and L mounts; the 12mm is available in Arri PL, Sony E, Nikon Z, Canon RF and L mounts; and the 14mm is available in Arri PL, Sony E, Nikon Z, Canon RF and EF and L mounts.
The Laowa wide-angle primes are available for preorder. The 9mm, 12mm and 14mm list for $1,499 each, and the 10mm lists for $1,699.
