XD Motion has announced the Arcam, a motion-control robotic camera system for broadcast applications.
The six-axis robotic arm is full motion control and does not require calibration. Programmed to move in 3D inside a virtual 8'2"-diameter sphere, it can be supported upside down by an optional dolly. Users who want to gain space on the floor can hang the robot on a wall or ceiling.
The Arcam is compatible with any 3D engine under FreeD protocol. XD motion provides all metadata for XYZ position, XYZ angles and zoom/focus positions. Arcam’s IO.Bot software is designed to ensure ergonomic performance; it can control all PTZs, Arcam Robot and other remote-head robotics with a single interface.
