Zeiss Announces 15mm Supreme Prime
The T1.8 lens is the last in the 14-piece Supreme Prime series, which ranges from 15mm to 200mm and offers maximum apertures of T1.5-T2.2.
Zeiss has introduced the Supreme Prime 15mm (T1.8), the last in the Supreme Prime lens set.
The 14-lens series ranges from 15mm to 200mm, with maximum apertures of T1.5-T2.2. “This 15mm lens is the final piece of the puzzle that many cinematographers have been waiting for,” says Christophe Casenave of Zeiss.
Zeiss Supreme Primes cover a wide range of camera sensors, offering compatibility with such models as the Sony Venice 2, the Arri Alexa Mini LF and the Red Monstro.
Cinematographers Armin Franzen and David Higgs, BSC, relied on the lenses for the upcoming season of the Sky series Das Boot. Supreme Primes were also used on the Netflix productions The Adam Project (shot by Tobias Schliessler, ASC) and Knives Out 2 (shot by Steve Yedlin, ASC).
The Supreme Prime 15mm T1.8 can be ordered now for delivery in June.
Zeiss will showcase the lens at the NAB Show in Las Vegas later this month.
