The ASC has welcomed cinematographer Michael Barrett into the ranks of active members.
Most recently, Barrett shot the pilot for the new series Supergirl. His work in television has so far brought him one ASC Award (for the CSI: Miami pilot) and two additional ASC nominations (for episodes of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation).
A Camerimage Golden Frog nominee for the feature Bobby, Barrett has also shot the films Ted 2 and Ted, A Million Ways to Die in the West, About Last Night (2014), A Very Harold & Kumar 3-D Christmas, The Invasion and Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, among others.
Barrett earned a B.A. in art from the University of California-Los Angeles, and an M.F.A. in film from Columbia University. He has since taught cinematography at both schools and at the Los Angeles Film School.
