Hollywood CPR Group Visits ASC Clubhouse

Sharing experience and expertise with the next generation is a priority for the Society.

On March 17, the ASC Education & Outreach Committee — co-chaired by Society members George Mooradian and Shana Hagan — hosted a meetup at the ASC Clubhouse with visitors enrolled in Hollywood CPR (Cinema Production Resources).

Established in 1997, the non-profit vocational-training program helps students find entry-level IA jobs after completing a special certification program held at West Los Angeles College.

Joining Mooradian and Hagan at the Clubhouse, participating ASC cinematographers included Adam Bricker, Michael Goi, Gil Hubbs, Geary McCloud, Suki Medenčević, Sam McCurdy and Michael M. Pessah, bringing a vast range of practical on-set experience to the discussion.

Lunch was hosted by Nanguang/Nanlux. CEO Nancy Zheng (celebrating her birthday with the group), business development head Andy Lin, and general manager/VP of sales and ASC associate member Mark Bender.

The Education & Outreach Committee organizes in-person meetings at the Clubhouse and industry events throughout the year. Form information about how your school can participate, contact Sal Maldonado or Sharon Bruneau at the ASC at (323) 969-4333.
