Magdalena Gorka Welcomed Into Society Membership

The Polish cinematographer’s credits include I’m Still Here, Doom Patrol and the upcoming series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

New ASC member Magdalena Gorka attended the National Film School in Łódź, Poland, where she earned a master’s degree in cinematography. Throughout her career, she has photographed features, television series, music videos and commercials.

In her commercial work, Gorka is known for her automotive photography, and she has shot campaigns for clients including BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz and Ford. She has photographed music videos for artists including Elton John, Katy Perry and Krzysztof Zalewski, among others. Her work on the Chainsmokers music video “Don't Let Me Down” resulted in a VMA nomination for Best Electronic Music Video.


Gorka’s narrative work includes the features I’m Still Here, Paranormal Activity 3, Viral and Die in a Gunfight. For her work on the feature Jack Strong, she earned a Camerimage Golden Frog Award nomination. 


Her television credits include the HBO Max superhero series Doom Patrol and Netflix sci-fi drama Into the Night. Her forthcoming credits include the Paramount Plus sci-fi series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, scheduled to premiere in 2022.


Gorka is also a member of the Polish Society of Cinematographers.
