The ASC recently wrapped its "Visual Artistry in the Age of AI," a summit that explored the ways in which artificial-intelligence technology will be part of a new path forward for creatives working across the arts and entertainment industry. The event was livestreamed from the Society's Clubhouse on June 10-11. For those who missed it, you can watch Day 1 and 2 of the AI summit in the videos on our events page now.
The summit included:
— Presentations of current AI technology by prominent developers in the field.
— Panel discussions on topics such as the ethical use of AI, using AI within the traditional workflows and the future of content creation.
— Real-time demonstrations showing the skills necessary to create targeted artistic results with the technology.
— An area where attendees received hands-on experience with various AI programs as an introduction to the technology.
Among the guest speakers and presenters who attended were ASC members Patrick Cady, Caleb Deschanel, Shelly Johnson, Sevdije Kastrati Dill, Roberto Schaefer and Dante Spinotti, as well as a wide range of AI content creators and filmmakers with intimate knowledge of this burgeoning space.
Those who signed up received a complimentary six-month subscription to the digital edition of American Cinematographer, which includes online access to each new issue, and the entirety of our vast online back-issue archive, which houses more than a century's worth of in-depth motion-picture production coverage dating back to AC's first issue in 1920.
